Of all our 119 grants given
over three years, more than one-third were
for statewide projects with a value of
$358,150; another 30% with a value of
$249,600 were being used in the Puget Sound
and Northwestern quarter of the state,
including the Olympic Peninsula.
However, there was no growth of grants in
this geographic area in 1997, while the other
three areas of the state show a healthy
percentage increase. It is clear that
the Puget Sound has not received the majority
of the grants in recent years, despite its
large share of the state's population.
